USB 2.0 on a new PC?

Why do you need 3 usb 3 ports? One for external HDD and or usb hub and perhaps one type C to charge your phone and that's it really.
I would have preferred 1 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 3.0
The two USB 3.0 can be used for transferring files between two external drives. Which I often do.
Anyway I think I can convert the Type C to a Type A with an adapter. Giving me 2 USB 3.0 Type A ports.

But I still think it's weird to have two USB 2.0 ports.

It's relatively cheaper to manufacture, at the volume that those ports and circuits are made in there is probably a tangible impact in cost vs profit.
