USB 3.0 ? What's happening ?

Anybody know where to source an external USB 3.0 HDD in SA ?
And why are they so scarce ? USB 3 boards have been around for a while.

You can get WD My Book Essential (3.5") and My Passport Essential (2.5") USB 3.0 drives at places like Take2, and then probably at all IT online stores.

edit: then there are also Transcend 2.5" USB 3.0, and probably Seagate, Samsung in both sizes. Just browse online stores, I really can't see how they are scarce...

That is true for most businesses
I would rather support a big E-Tailor who has been in business for a long time and is much more likely to still be around after 2-5 years when the equipment would start malfunctioning.

Look online for buying PC stuff or if you find that dodgy, if you're in the Centurion area, Centurion Technology has some decent prices (their website is a bit lacking though, but they find what you want at a decent price). Incredible Corruption an Makro are expensive

Except there are online stores that meet that criteria without crappy support. Eg. Prophecy and w00tware.

Wasn't impressed with their service at all. Ordered something, and then I was told it was going to be there at 5, get there at 5, nothing. Then wait 1 hour and suddenly they aren't getting it any longer. That was after already waiting way too long (days wise). Forget the fact that they don't call back. Naturally they already had my money, so I guess they thought, why bother....

In fact few people in the office mirrored my response but my one friend loves them, not sure why tho.
