Hi,

I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.

I had a K3565 Vodafone modem which i debranded and installed the Huawei E160X Firmware... i could then enable the Network Adapter via AT commands. So when you look at the Device Manager, you'll also see a device listed under "Network Adapters" in addition to a device under "Modems"

This was great, because my connection manager simply enabled a Network connection rather than performing a "Dial up connection" with the 3G Modem.

The advantage for me is that i could manage the Routing rules between my normal LAN connection and my 3G connection. Now when i use the "Dial up connection" method, the 3G connection literally takes over and becomes the primary network and all traffic is directed through this. I require to manage the routing rules as i need to route some traffic via the 3G modem and the bulk of my traffic via the normal LAN adapter.

Recently, i managed to brick my K3565 Modem and the only way to unbrick was to get someone to repair the device, but looking at 3g modems available on bidorbuy, i might as well purchase a new 3g modem because its probably gonna cost me as much to repair the old one.

Now my question is, i have googled quite a bit and noticed that this "Network adapter" feature is only really available on Huawei type devices. Is this correct? Or does the ZTE type devices also have this feature?

Which Vodafone devices will support this feature? Does anyone no if the K3805-Z supports it(ZTE type device)?

Does anyone have a list of devices that supports this feature i am after?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Most of the new ZTE devices also appear as a network adapter. I have tested a K3805-Z in the past and am almost sure it appeared as a network adapter and a dial-up adapter.

Can anyone confirm this about the k3805-z modem before I go out and purchase one?

Believe or not, i installed the adapter using the latest Vodafone Mobile Broadband software so that the correct drivers are used. Then i used Windows 7 to connect with the 'Mobile Broadband connection' using the adapter and now i can get on to 2 networks at the same time...

Using the Vodafone Mobile Broadband, it disconnects the 3G when also using the LAN even though i have that 'Best Connected' feature turned off.

Thanks all for the assistance.
