USB A to C Data Cables

I bought a Volkano R120 data cable two years ago from IC or some such place. It worked fine. Now my phone won't give me an option to transfer data. So I've been looking for a decent replacement cable, about 1.5m long.
I searched on Takealot under Aukey, Adata and Belkin. The best option seems to be a Belkin 1.2m cable at R199. Is it OK to go with noname cables now? That price is a bit steep for me
