USB Debugging in Android 4.2

If you are a modder and ROM user, you will be dismayed to see that there is no USB Debugging option in Android 4.2.

If you do not know why you need this, then you are in the wrong thread!

To be nice, it is necessary to run adb and other developer commands from a computer VIA USB to the phone.

Here is a way to turn it on since it is very well hidden!

1. Go to Settings -> About Phone.

2. Go to “Build Number” at the end of the Scroll list.

3. Tap on “Build Number” repeatedly (7 times). On your third tap you should see message indicating that you only have 4 more taps to go to ‘become a developer’. Keep tapping until you are a developer.

USB debugging should now be enabled.

Yeah I needed to do this on my tablet the other day, not sure why they hid it like that.

It's been like that for a while, you have to tap to unlock developer options, guess it's to keep noobs out

Oh boy, I saw this and actually opened it expecting to find actual USB Device debugging, which I am desparately needing right now. That option has been permanently enabled on my phone since I first turned it on....

The PIC USB HID Device I made freezes after a few packet transfers when connected to the S2 USB OTG. But it never freezes when connected to PC...

USB debugging... Pfft..

Would have been a bit more useful if it was advising how enable USB Mass Storage Mode in 4.2... I will put it up if requested.

Go to Settings -> Storage
Tap "Menu" button on phone -> "USB computer connection"
Choose the connection method
