USB external 5.1 soundcard

My nephew got a laptop from his dad and want to be able to use his 5.1 system on it, is there any not to expensive external soundcards thingys that runs from the usb port?

purchased this a week ago. Works well. Only has a optical out though, so if you have a AV Reciever, it should be ok.
