I have a mecer usb modem b4 i had adsl at the beginning of the year the modems local area connection/Your Modem (RFC1483 Mode) connected now for some reason it doesnt, my adsl is on my home phone and everytime some1 calls or my mother makes a call my internet disconnects, i thought maybe its doing this because my local area connection isnt connected. Can any1 plz help?

i got one filter on the one phone but thats not the problem because at the beginning of the year it didnt do that. I also cannot run a dsl test with my modem it says cant find p88 dun, u maybe know what that is ?

Had similar problems and it was the filter, try and borrow another filter from someone and check it again. U could if u have winxp try and do a restore to an date that u did not have this problem.

mmm ok thx dude, cant restore my pc 2 a earlier date though i formatted alot.

Ive got 2 home phones but only a filter on the one, will it be better to put a filter from my modem to the line then?

Im not sure how u setup your phones but u got one line coming into your house then a splitter one side goes to usb modem outherside to phone. If u want to connect your second phone u have to split the phoneline again(the one connected to your phone) That way u only need one filter.
Lille white telkom box - one side to modem outherside to filter then phone - split it again after the filter then you should have 2 connections for your 2 phones

Ye because i got a splitter and both the phones are connected 2 that but i think my internet line might be connected to my 2nd phone.

k well this is my exact setup i got one line coming from the pole splitting into my pc room for the adsl and then into my house for the phone, in my house there's a splitter that connects the 2 phones, did u say i must just get a splitter and split the splitter going into my house&use a filter for that? sorry for all the splits :)

Basicaly just make sure you have a filter connected to each phone:)
