I have an USB Modem connected to a Billion 7300NRE Router. I am not reliably getting Internet Connection on each of the PCs connected to the Router. It does not appear to be allocating the iBurst DNS (Primary 196.30.31.193 and Secondary 196.46.70.1).

There is a setting in the LAN and in the WAN sections of the Router for DNS. Tried Auto in both and still no connection and then to Manual entering the iBurst DNS but still nothing. What works reliably is if I enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 manually into each of the PCs. I have Internet connection without fail. What should the router configuration in the LAN and WAN be?

Your PCs DNS should show the private IP address of your router.

Don't forget to set the MTU on the router to 1392 bytes.

Thanks. Yes it did show the Router IP address. Sorry I did not mean 'allocating' DNS. I have set the MTU. What should the LAN and WAN settings be?

I got an email from them in 2009 saying the 196.30.31.193 was discontinued and the other DNS is 196.46.70.10 not .1 as you printed, sooo.. how your DNS is working at all is a question?

JHB: 41.213.80.14

if you put your billion to automatically get dns you will be ok (or should be) and then automatically issue DNS to your PC's.

Hi there, in my case I have the iburst terminal + a Bipac B7300Nx. It used to work and I even send it to Iburst which returned with no fault found. The problem was the Wifi used to turn off 2 - 5mins after the router has been switched on. After latest firmware was being install, now I can even get the wan option when I logged onto the router.

Could some please help?
My router is not even a year old.
