USB Network Card?

My Onboard Network port got bust with lightening and I only have one other PCI slot which I use for my sound card. Do you get a network card that connects to the pc via the USB slot?
 
it's not quite the same thing. You don't get 1Gbs throughput, TCP/IP has a much higher overhead, and generally you'll get about 150 - 200Mbs, so 480Mbs on USB is enough.

Unless, you have a 24port 10/100/1000 switch with 24 PC's with gigabit ports, and they're all fully utilizing the network.
