usb problem

My PC at work was doing that with my flash drive. I found that it wasnt getting a drive letter assigned to it. Have a look under Administrative tools, Computer managment, then drive manager, u'll see the physical drives there. Check to see what drive letter is assigned to it.

erm, also sometimes it creates a spark when i plug something in.
so u rate something is loose with my front USB? its getting rather irritating, its still under warranty, is mabye my motherboard just faulty?

I have had that when another drive was mapped. For instance I had E:\ mapped from the network and for some reason windows did not automatically assign a new drive letter for the device...instead it remained in conflict and I couldn't see the device until I disconnected the flash disk. Just fyi!! :)
