I have a need to connect my laptop to my wireless adsl router/modem.

My question being.... Should I buy a PC card that goes into my laptop or rather a USB wireless adapter so that I can even use it on a desktop PC too. I saw these adverts. ADVERT 1 ADVERT 2 ADVERT 3

Any ideas?

It is just thet my laptop is nearly 2 yers old, and I dont know how long it will still be going. At least the usb can connect to ANY PC

And will I be able to not only connect wirelessly to ADSL but also be able to access my other PC's that are connected to the router/modem with LAN cables?

Go for the USB one ... they tend to work better than the PC cards, and like you said, you can use it on any PC, not just the notebook. And yes, you will be able to connect to the other machines on your network
