Use Whatsapp on pc while phone in for repairs?

is this possible? I've read that you can use bluestack to load Whatsapp on your pc. But can you register the original number from your phone on the pc?

You can use blustack, but I would rather cut off my arm than install that rubbish again.

Alternatives are Andyroid or Gennymotion, you can use the same number, but will not have access to existing messages. You will also need the sim in a phone at the time of re-registration on the VM in order to receive the code required for activation.
 
seems like such a headache. Why can't they just make it so that your account syncs online all the time and then you can access it from a web interface.

Because they do not want to, if your phones already gone in then you getting it back without all your conversations anyway, unless of course you went into WA's settings and moved the backup location from internal to external storage.
They will wipe your phone and you will loose everything on it.

This is one of the reasons I am moving my friends over to Telegram, quite easily I might add.
You tell a bunch of computer professionals that they can have an encrypted messaging push client that does not abuse your batter and has a web portal as well as an install-able browser app, that works on multiple devices simultaneously, along with device and cloud based encryption, they just download the damn thing and forget about WhatsApp.

The devs are so confident in the encryption there is a standing prize of 200k USD for any hacker who can email them the encryption key, or something like that.

I have since managed to use it to replace WhatsApp, Hangouts, Skype and FB Messenger. I can start a conversation on my phone, resume it on my desktop and finish it on my tablet if I really want. Also if you have something really private to discuss there is a self-destruct conversation option that destroys the messages on both devices and blocks copy, paste and saving of any sent attachments, only way they can grab a record of it would be screenshots.

I assume for comical reasons they decided to also exceed WhatsApp's file transfer limit of 16mb and set theirs to 1gb.

Is the worst choice you an ever make, in order to uninstall it you are required to format and re-install windows. Its uninstall option fails everytime, and even if you manage to uninstall it following the overly complicated manual instruction, you can never install the update unless you have re-installed windows.

Nope, not just mine, there are numerous threads on there support site and others with regards to this problem. It's bluestacks biggest problem, there are even threads about guys running into the same issues when trying to upgrade it.

Even so, Andyroid and Gennymotion are far more powerful and flexible, the later especially as you can actually setup the device with the specs you want, including droid version, architecture and screen size/resolution/dpi.

Bluestacks is old and outdated at this point.
 
Well, never had issues while I used it on Win7 (aside from rather high RAM usage), now use it on Win8.1 (and it's pretty fine). Granted though, I didn't see a reason to uninstall as I occasionally test some Android APK's.

I wanted it for whatsapp, which when learning WA does not allow multiple devices I wanted to uninstall it, as it no longer served any purpose.
They provided various sets of instructions and registry files in order to uninstall it, and yes this ws on Win7, and Win8 later when I found a guide for spoofing the MAC address into fooling WA into working on multiple devices.

This was still last year when I tried it the 2nd time and honestly I don't think its actually uninstalled yet. I gave up. I use Gennymotion which works a treat and allows me to test things in various environments and works off the Oracle VM engine which is extremely stable and proven itself for years. BS tried to build its own thing unsuccessfully.

True, but the leaders are WhatsApp, BBM, WeeBo (something like that), Mxit still has a solid footing locally, but that's dropping year on year.
Telegram is making its way up, security a big selling point, but for many the multiple devices more so, its more convenient to use your desktop keyboard when sitting at your desk.

Telegram can do this. You should have made the switch.
 
I installed Telegram but when scanning the ap I got a warning saying that Admob is installed with the app.
What is this?

Admob is google's ad system for mobile. I don't get any ads on telegram though. Did you download it from the play store?
