Hi Guys

Is it possible to specify your own DNS (eg 1.1.1.1 or 9.9.9.9) in Android?

Where would you set the DNS server IPs up?

TIA

Ook

Edited to add - not under wifi, but with your ISP eg CellC, Telkom etc.

I'd assume under your WiFi connection...

Change your DNS servers on Android
  1. Open the Settings on the device.
  2. Select Wi-Fi.
  3. Long press your current network, then select Modify network.
  4. Mark Show advanced options check box.
  5. Change IP settings to Static.
  6. Add the DNS servers IPs to the DNS 1, and DNS 2 fields. ...
  7. Press Save button, disconnect from the network, and reconnect for changes to take effect.

Do you want all your devices in the house to use this DNS..?

If so, find where on your router you can change DNS servers..

If for a single device only, follow instructions online for the specific device..

Sorry for not being more specific.

I suspect that CellC DNS take a nosedive after hours, and so want to use different DNS servers to test this.

This is on a single Android device, not a router which is shared by many devices.
