Hi,

I had a previous post for a car around 40k - 50k for my GF (It's her first car). I was looking around and found that you can pick up a 2004/2005 ford fiesta for that price. It has about 160k kms on the clock though. The nice thing is that you get ABS, Power Steering, Airbags and AC.

I know I can get a car without the ABS etc. with much lower kilometers for the same price but with all of the hooligans on the road I would feel much safer if you have all of these safety features. I will even drive the fiesta and let her drive around in my Sirion (as it's more reliable @ 40k kms) :D

I found a few deals on carfind.co.za:

As I do not know that much about cars I was wondering if someone here can advise me on the maintenance cost of the fiesta, if its a smart buy, what is the mileage limit of these cars etc. :wtf:

Any advice would be helpful. If you can recommend another car that has all of these safety features for around the same price please let me know. I do now want to make a stupid purchase. :erm:

Mainantance wise, Its cheap to service Ford Fiesta. My Ford Fiesta has 218 000 km now. Never had issues with it. Some parts are compatible with Ford Figo. So with spares its fine.

With normally servicing , this car can go over 400k km i guess.

Also the trade value of 1.4i 5rd 2005 model is around R42k

Currently have a Fiesta 1.4i 5dr 2005 model with 105000km's on the clock.. Actually planning to sell in two months! Fantastic car, never given me any 'major' hassles. Water-pump once went, its a known issue with Fiesta's, but other than that it's been a good ride. My brother also had one, up to 140k on the clock, same water-pump issue and that was it.
