Good day!
Just called A&G to change my insurance policy. "Please punch in policy number or ID". I use the policy number, only to get asked for the policy number once I am connected. But it gets better:
To proceed, I must answer a few security questions:
date of birth, residential adress, email adress and/or PO Box, ...
Anybody who knows me can answer those questions, I tell the friendly consultant. She replies: yes, but we expect you to answer honestly. I respond: You gon't get my point. How are those questions relevant for security if anybody can answer them??
Similar for FNB:
Anybody who holds a statement from me in their hands can answer the "security questions" (3 out of 5).
Oh, and I have to answer them on the phone to order a new debit card - only to get my ID verified again once I fetch it at the branch!
Can somebody wake up please?? Or do they all have shares in the IT providers and need to keep us on the line?
