Usenet Recommendations

Hi,

I've seen a bunch of threads on this, but nothing recent.

I currently use sickrage to download shows from torrents. However, if I find a new show, I often have issues finding decent seeds for previous seasons.

I would like to try start with usenets:

1) What is the best way to do it? I have heard to use frugal newsnet with astraweb or usenet.farm as a block backup. The problem is, usenet.farm only stores 1100 days, so probably astraweb is better for the block backup? Or can you suggest alternatives? Even better, is there a 1 all solution, or does one need to have at least 2 news servers? And should I be using different servers EU & US? Also, the server needs to support SSL (Telkom LTE.... :wtf

2) In terms of search providers, which one would you recommend that integrates with Sickrage?

I use NextGenNews (http://nextgennews.net) which combines Usenet providers transparently. I have had fairly good luck in retrieving quite old posts through them.

NGN is good. I recommend it too.
