I don't know if any of you on Axxess accounts are experiencing slow speeds. I recently upgraded from 192 to 384kbps but I have only seen 384kbps speed once in the two weeks since I upgraded. My upstream is consistently about 255kbps but my downstream is almost always around 155 to 192kbps. Would switching my ISP do the trick? Telkom says there is nothing wrong with the line and that the upgrade has gone through. So the only thing I can think of is contention ratio?

Well they might think your line was upgraded when maybe only on their systems  My advice to you is log a fault on the line let the techie come out and test it. Just keep in mind that if the problem is with your isp or on your side you will gwt billed for the call out.

B2048, a lot of people have been experiencing this problem since 1st August. I got 192 and i was only gettin 156.
i jus checked now and everything seems back to normal.
so jus chk agen, find out from sum1 with DSL in ur area hows it 4 em, make 100% sure tht the fault is with the line be4 u log a fault with telkom because as wisecrack says, u will get billed for the call out.
Jus keep in mind that lot other ppl hav been experiencing this prob.

Being on an Axxess account shouldn't make a difference, as it's still using the SAIX backbone (so switching ISP's wouldn't change anything).

I'm also only getting 20k/s on my newly upgraded 384k line, and I'm with Imaginet. Telkom refuses to accept responsibility.

Am I right in saying both of you upgrade form 192k to 384k?
