using 6630 as bluetoothe GPRS modem for Mac os X

Hey all. I have been struggling the last few days to get my 6630 working as a gprs modem. I can surf throught it when it dials up but that gets too expensive. I need to figure out what the problem is. Has anyone else had this problem? i have downloaded and tried Ross Barkmans scripts but none seem to be able to communicate. Could it be a firware issue? How is it that I can make one type of a connection but cannot make a connection through the gprs? Anyone had the same issues?

A friend of mine had a similar problem, couldn't get the gprs modem working on his pc. After he downloaded the latest drivers from the Nokia site, he got it working.

We got it working fine from a pc, same phone, just not working on the powerbook.

First try to dial out using the following string for the number
*99#
If that does not work then connect directly to the modem from the notebook
Try +cgdcont=1,"ip","internet"
The modem should return "OK" which confirms it recognises the GPRS string.
Then close the session and then try to dial out with the number
*99***1#

Just to say, I have been using this method (the first string mentioned) for some time now and it has been very pleasant via both cable and bluetooth. My GPRS connection seems to be faster than normal 56kbps dial-up.

I don't know if anyone has said this before MTNBB, but thanks for the speedy replies. It adds that distinctively personal touch to the relationship between company and client.
