I have bought myself a Chinese Android tablet (android 2.2) and am battling to connect to the internet using my Cell C USB modem. I did a search on previous strings where someone mentioned having to disable certain functionalities on the speedstick. Can anyone elaborate on this? I set up a new APN using the directions that where available on the Cell C website, I connect the speedstcik, the signal turns green, but no response on the tablet. Has anyone had any luck in this regard? Maybe they can share the procedure and also the settings they used when setting up a new APN. Before you ask, yes, according to the supplier one can connect to the internet using a usb modem on this model tablet.

I got mine working but is was by pure luck, I don't know how I got it right.

Can u maybe share your APN settings, your service provider and even what make of USB modem you use? May be helpful in solving my problems.

You need a software driver on the tablet for the specific USB modem that you are using - and there are 100's of versions out there, only a few will be supported.

HI JOLA
Can u explain? Does one search for drivers according to the make of USB modem? Is there a specific directory on the tablet that it needs to be installed?

You have to search for make and model and operating system and OS version - good luck, I would not be too optimistic.

For example Huawei & E272 & Android & 2.2 - and yes, installation would be another issue, if it does not have a self-install setup.

It may be better to find out which modems are supported by the tablet and then to get hold of one of those.

Maybe someone on MBB can swap modems with you.
