Using a cellphone as modem for remote server

This what I need to do; Use my cellphone as a modem to dial a remote server. I can't get the cellphone (N95) to dial out It dials out the default Vodacom #99* for internet access, no problem. But when I insert another landline number (or even another cellphone number to test) it just says dialing, then error. Any1 tried this before?
