I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to do that as I may be cancelling my adsl and going with L.O.S. wireless. The problem is the wireless port only has one lan cable and no wireless. So I don't want to buy another router if I don't have to.

Does anyone know if this is even possible? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Normally your WISP would supply you with a decent outdoor WiFi router, as the range on your ADSL WiFi router would be limited to 100m max.

I just need connectivity for a 15M radius. I have a wifi antenna on my roof connecting to the broadcast station, and then the lan cable goes directly to a psu for the antenna and another cable comes then plugs directly into my pc. I can plug that one into a network switch and then have a lan setup, but wireless is more important at the moment.

Yes, you can use the D-Link routers as a normal network switch too.

Thanks. Does that mean I can connect to the internet via my fixed wireless router by adding a network cable to the adsl modem? Or is it only for networking?

Do you want to connect your ADSL+Router to another ADSL modem?

You should be able to do that, but just take note that you won't be able to dial a PPPoE connection from the ADSL+router via the other ADSL modem, but you should be able to dial the PPPoE connection from a PC via the ADSL+Router via the ADSL modem.

If I misunderstood your configuration, then please tell me exactly what you're trying to do, with what kind of equipment.

I have the wireless adsl router, no adsl connection, but a fixed wireless connection with a single lan connection on the power supply of the wireless antenna. Can I use the modem as a wireless network switch. Will have to give you details of router etc later. But if I buy a similar item it would be like this one: http://www.maxcomm.co.za/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=42&Itemid=53

So basically I'm trying to find out if I am able to forego the costs of another 'router/access point'

Yes You can use it...there is a check box in the route/modem that u click that will disable, lets call it the modem part, plug ur network cable that is running into ur pc now into the router and woila. I did this a while back with the Telkom Mega 105 router at a buddies place...he also have this wireless type of internet u mention. Will go check over the weekend what that setting was.

Sorted :D

As simple as unplugging the telephone line and plugging the wireless router into the dsl router!

Thanks for the input
