Using apple extreme for wifi only

Hi, I moved into a new apartment, unfortunately wont have an internet connection for the next month as no line
What I would like to do is just have a wifi network(just lan) on airport extreme base station so that I can connect via lan nvidia shield to nas server and allow access of ny nas over wifi and also have access to my airprint printer.
Unfortunately both bridge mode and dhcp do not seem to allow me to connect the devices.
Any ideas on how I can create a wifi network with no internet connection
