Using ATA to feed an analogue PBX

Is it possible to use ata gateways to feed sip numbers into an old analogue pbx?

Will functions like transfering calls to other extensions all the best same as the current setup with physical Telkom landlines.

Any recommendations on SIP providers. Companies have quoted us and said we need to throw this pbx away and get a cloud hosted pbx. Most has absurd pricing.

Currently 3 lines down after cable theft and Telkom just shrugs saying we need to call sales. Quotes has been all over the show for such a small business forking put 20k is not worth it considering that the Telkom bill was R3500 monthly.

I'm using Switchtel. R100 for a business trunk with 4 lines/channels. Their support is absolutely stellar! Well I hope it still is with all the Covid nonsense...

You're going to need some kind of hardware though to route your calls from the sip trunks to the correct ATA.

I'm using a Yeastar S-Series 20. You would then configure the ATA's as extensions and then plug those into your PABX as lines.

Or I suppose you could use a Cloud PBX and configure the ATA's as extensions on that.
