Greetz all, I'm a compleat noob.

Am using BB on a Nokia with BBConnect software (Symbian). My email push/pull is fine but every time I need data/web I get charged regular Vodacom rates.

If I'm paying for BB and getting email, why the h3ll can't I get my data through the BB settings? Nokia users overseas say there's no problem in the US or UK.
Suggestions?
Tried Voda's data call centre but very mixed feedback.
Thanks, mud

I had a BB bolt on service on my Nokia 9500 a few years ago. Afaik, it only covered the email and not browsing, but I never tried with the BB APN, so I cannot comment on that.

Hiya Nerfherder
thanks for the reply.
On Nokia Blackberry the APN for email seems fine. When I browse with onboard web or Opera Mini it prompts for an acess point. Default is Vodacom or Vlive!. No Blackberry option listed. Have tried varous settigs, no joy.

A new data acess point asks for:
connection name
data bearer
APN
user name
prompt pasword
password
authentication
home page

ADVANCED settings list:
network type (IPv4 or IPv6)
phone IP address
DNS address (Vodacom refuse to give this)
proxy serv address
proxy port number

BlackBerry Connect service is _only_ for email.

On device browsing, tethering etc will be billed for separately.

Astound - thnks for clearing up.
Was under the mistaken impression that BB Connect could also be configured to allow web browsing. My bad, my sad.
