I have a vodacom dongle, a vodacom sim card which i have been using, i want to use a cellc sim card in the vodacom dongle.

I read up about this and have been advised to download Mobile Partner which i have done, however Mobile Partner is not finding the device...

I have tried the crack - for the vodacom software / dongle - but that doesnt work either - it finds the cellc network but when trying to connect it just keeps on trying to connect without success...

Urg anybody done this before???
Must i uninstall the vodacom software, uninstall the vodacom dongle (while connected to usb port) and reinstall mobile partner for it to pickup the device???

Thanks

You do not need any extra software. If u are on Windows create an new Connection > Dial up connection and dial it to the number *99# using the Vodacom Modem. I use an 8ta sim on a Vodacom Dongle in the same way

Hi,

Unfortunately, I am still having a problem with my cell c sim in the Vodacom dongle. Please, if you do not mind, give me a step-by-step explanation of where to make the APN changes. Do I try to do in the Vodacom software of in the broadband settings

Did you guys get any joy? Need to change the APN on a voda locked wifi modem to use the afrihost sim in it.

Just in case someone comes past a problem like this again, here is my solution for a Cell C sim card and a Vodacom modem:

1. Insert the sim card into the modem and switch the modem on
2. Connect to the wifi router using the Wifi key on the back of the modem
3. Go to any internet browser and navigate to the ip address also found on the back of the modem (I've found that most of the time the default ip address is: 192.168.0.1)
4. When navigated to the default Mobile wifi page on the top right corner click on login
- username: admin (Sometimes no username is required)
- password: admin
5. Click on the Connection tab on the left side of the screen
6. Account type --> Select Custom
Connection mode: Automatic
IP Type: IPv4+IPv6
APN: internet
DNS: Leave empty
DNS2: Leave empty
Security: PAP
Username: The mobile number of the cell c sim card
Password: The password of the number as registered on the cell c network. (If you dont have the password navigate to https://www.cellc.co.za/cellc/home - navigate to login -->Type in your phone number and click on forgot password --> type in phone number again and new password --> an otp will be sent to the cell c number to confirm)

I hope the above helps someone as it helped me.

To anyone still using a K3575 modem.
