My company has given me an Iburst antenna to use with their laptop. Will i be able to use this antenna with my own iburst account and will they be able to detect that I am using their antenna. This would save me having to buy my own antenna.

there is no way they will be able to know unless they see you do it.

Also If i just do surfing and not download anything will this affect the cap that they has subscribed for. ie will I reach the cap?

the white box is the modem which is linked to an account, so yes, if the company paid for it, they will know that you have been using it by the number of megs you are downloading. But if you are just surfing, they probably won't notice and will attribute it to your work surfing.

and "surfing" is downloading - you're downloading web pages. But of course, surfing cnn.com will do less to your usage than downloading the Shrek 2 DVD.

No, he has his own account, but wants to use the companies modem.
But as far as I know you can only use a modem for one account, so he shouldnt be able to sign in with his account over the business's modem.

But just surfing will use some the cap, but you probably wont reach it just surfing a few websites. This seems to be a common misconception, my parents also thaught that surfing wouldnt effect the cap when they started thinking about broadband (and therefore about bandwidth conservation, silly isnt it?)

And the antenna is also a white box , but much thinner and without an aerial, and is connected to the modem to get better signal (speed).
