Husbands and wives, people in long term/serious relationships to use condoms to further prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS

what's your take?

The wife and I still religiously use condoms, this isn't related to HIV/AIDS though, we just realllllllllyyyyyyy don't want to have children at this stage...she's on the pill as well...

nice one... i respect people like you...:D

I mentioned it once, and was accused of having a relationship outside. So I will never bring it up again :(

Very few relationships are true and pure anyway

with the girlfriend.. on the pill.. just use a Dome at the end..

I don't think insecurities need to be brought into a discussion like this in a commited relationship. To me its more about being practical, two examples:

1) My own case, the wife and I simply don't want children at this stage, its a decision we made together and even with her being on the pill its not something we want to risk, so we use condoms
2) My brother-in-law is a doctor and during his time at Bara and Jo'burg Gen he often had people come in at the middle of the night with open wounds that needed treatment immediately, accidents happen under these circumstances so he had to be tested for HIV/AIDS every 3 months. Between my sister and him they also made a decision to always use a condom, not because of infidelity but simply because the perceived risk was so high.

In my mind not wearing a condom isn't a sign of commitment in a relationship, hell if your not going to be wearing one at home chances are your not going to be wearing elsewhere as well. If you think that by not using a condom you keep your partner faithful you seriously have to take a step back and look at the level of trust in your relationship.

More casual relationships however are a total different story. Use as many as you can and then ducktape them to your body if needs be....

What you talking about ?

It's has nothing to do with insecurities  After having skin to skin sex for over 6 years and then bringing up the topic, I suspect shyt like that to hit the fan.

I have never cheated on my wife and will not do so. I just think that having done something for a prolonged period of time and then wanting to change it sparked some highly flamable liquid in her brain

In line with the facts set out in your post, monogamy alone will already do the trick.

More a generalisation on my part, I didn't intend to offend Pitbull, I can honestly say I have no idea what happens in your sex life. Having read the futher detail now though I can understand the reaction from your wife's side :P And you are right, having done it one way for a long time and then suggesting a change would have sparked the flamable liquid.

Hehehe, I think there are many men in this world that sort of come to that decision in their lives in a myriad of topics.

Man: Question/Suggestion/Comment
Woman: Hellfire, brimstone, earthquakes, thunder, lightning and a teletubbie just for the hell of it
Man to self: Ok.......never think/say/do that again *runs off to buy expensive gifts and wait for make up sex*

Gf is on the pill, we started off using condoms as well but that didnt last. I have no reason not to trust the pill, touch wood.

This is by far the most educated post I have ever seen on MyBB :D

1 000% true :D

Monogamous ppl get aids. Cause their partners are cheaters.

+1

Maybe getting AIDS is going too far, but the one that is monogamous in the relationship is certainly at risk from something as so many partners cheat

We do not live in a perfect world bluno, nor are relationships perfect and many people cheat on their partners.

Basic trust, if you do not trust your partner use condoms. Dolby why is AIDS going to far?

When reading the OP's post, I was under the impression that he was referring to monogamous and FAITHFUL relationships.

blu is correct, a monogamous relationship is one where both partners are faithful. yes one spouse may believe he/she is in a monogamous relationship when in fact that is not the case.
