Hi everyone :)

I was looking around for a cloud based storage for all my photos. I currently have an internal hard drive which all my photos are stored on, I then make a mirror backup of that which I store on an external drive in my house as well.

Would it be a good idea to store pictures on Flickr's 1TB service (in addition to my 2 current copies)? My intention is not to share any of these photos but to keep it as an "on-the-go" access to all of my pictures, so I would make all the photos private.*

Currently, my pictures are sitting at around 116GB. Does flickr also let you upload videos?

Any help appreciated*:D

Interesting idea but there is so many cloud base storage solutions designed for backup that probably better to use those. www.copy.com is getting interest from me, 15GB free if I recall correctly.

Have you worked out how long it will take to upload 116GB? It's not a particularly large amount but maybe make a third copy and leave them with a friend, family member, safety deposit box. Then with that behind you think about cloud storage for new images?

:D:D
Flickr is free though and with 1Tb of storage
Their T&C's mean they own your pics; and can therefore sell them to anyone who wants them. Flickr are a in effect a giant user-contributed stock photo provider.

I've been using Google Drive for backing up my photos and documents. At $2 for 100GB and $10 for 1TB, you can't really go wrong and the service works very, very well.

No, that not the case.

I use Flickr as backup for my photos, I don't have a lot though just a few GB. I have a custom script running on my local "NAS box" (i.e., linux server) which runs every night and automatically uploads any new photos that appear in my photo folders.. Works for me. ;)
