Using Friends Accounts

for some reason i am able to use some of my friends accounts but when i try to use others ill get the invalid adsl account message...even though these acc are the same type(telkom/openweb) and i know that they are all valid...

any help/suggestions as to why im getting these messages?

Maybe because your "friends" have locked their DSL account to their line, so that their "friends" don't steal their data...

I've got the standard Telkom adsl package wich includes the Invintel "wireless magic" router....I did a self install too...

My problem is that for some reason not all my accounts want to work with it...

I have An acc from mweb, 2 from openweb and 1 from cybersmart and at the moment only one of the openweb acc's work...

When i try to use one of my Telkom acc's or one of the openweb ones that doesnt work i get a invalid adsl authentication message...

so if anyone could shed some light on why this is happening...

For one, like arf9999 pointed out, these accounts could have been locked to the specific ADSL port of the only legitimate user that is supposed to use them - and that is not you.

Secondly, you might have the username or password wrong? Or these accounts do not exist anymore.

Nothing else would cause this.

As far as I know you'd only get the auth message if your auth was wrong... so like ld13 and arf pointed out, either you've got your username/password combo wrong or there's something you're not telling us about how legit these accounts are
