Hi all,

I am travelling to Zanzibar soon and would like to take my mobile wifi and buy a SIM with data package when there. That way I can have all my devices connected - hopefully relatively cheaply.

Does anyone know whether this is possible? I couldn't get it to work when I was in NY two years back, but then I didn't try too hard. I assume that the APN would need to be set on the router ... plus a number of other settings. In addition the router would need to operate on the same frequencies.

The information that I have on the router is as follows:
HUAWEI E5776s-601: FDD 1800/2600MHz TDD 2300MHz
I have purchased it through Telkom Mobile and using 4g in SA.

Anyone know if this is possible and which settings I would need to fiddle?

Thanks so much.

Works fine. I use mine on airtel Kenya R25 for 1GB valid for 7days..

Thanks. Are you saying that you just pop in the new SIM card and the router picks up what it needs from there?

My NY experience wasn't this seamless. It didn't connect to the network at all.

That's been my experience.. i didn't do anything else.. after inserting the sim into the wifi router
