i have two computers, a PC and an Apple Powerbook.
its becoming an extremely tiring hassle unplugging my pc
from the router to LAN with my powerbook.

is it possible to use the Marconi 5100 as a hub to connect the
two computers?

also does anybody know how to connect a Mac to an adsl line
because i still havent been able to do this either.
im a mac noob through and through.

thanks in advance.

Mathew.

Does the Marconi 5100 have 4 ports?

Mac is no different to PC when it comes to networking (as long as it's OSX) in your network configuration, just make sure the mac is on the same subnet on the PC's and router (and in the same IP range); then set the router as the Mac's gateway / router address, and you should be a-for-a-way.

The easiest test it to ping a PC on the network and the router from the Mac... you can do this from terminal... you can get into terminal by pressing AppleKey F and typing terminal... then double click on terminal... then type: ping <<IP ADDRESS>>

(Replace <<IP ADDRESS>> with the machines / routers IP).

If that works, then you know your on the right track.
