Hi there.

I am currently running my home-built PVR using Media Portal and the MCE remote control. I have recently aquired DSTV (Single view with Black remote which I believe is the DSD910) and was wondering if anyone has got the MCE blasters to work in changing the channel on the decoder. I have tried teaching it using MyBlaster, but even though the blaster transmits under "Test", it does not change the decoder. I have had very limited success in that I have managed to get it to set the "4" on rare occations. If anyone has got the codes loaded successfully, could you please send me you .dat file for the blaster. Thanks.

PS Transmits fine from MP when changing channels, but nothing happens, so blasters are working, just don't have the right .dat file.

Which model DSTV remote are you using to teach MyBlaster? If you're using the newer DSTV universal remotes (silver in colour) then you're unlikely to have much success, try using an older DSTV remote (black in color).

You may also need to change a setting on your DSTV decoder in order for it to accept the old remote codes. This can be done by pressing the menu on the DSTV remote, then selecting:
"advanced options" -> "TV installation" -> "change the remote setting"
select "new and old"

Sorted it out :D
Managed to borrow an old black remote from my father-in-law which seems to have done the trick. So it looks like the new black remotes (has a silver ring around the navigation and OK buttons) works the same as the newer silver/blue remotes discussed on the forums.

Will be doing some more testing to ensure that it works properly.
