Hello,

Is it possible to use a Mifi Router the way one would use a USB dongle on a wifi router.

i.e. instead of connecting the usb dongle to the wifi router to get internet - connect the mifi to the wifi router...

Depends on the WiFi router, and what usb devices it supports. Also depends the mifi.

Probably won't work unless your wifi router can act as arrange extender for the mifi router. What is the use case for this?

He has a mifi that works, but only allows 5 clients on the WiFi. By connecting it as a dongle via usb port on a proper WiFi router, you extend the WiFi range, and allow for more connected clients at the same time.

Am assuming all of this , of course. I have done it before with a tp-link router with 3rd party firmware and a Huawei mifi for our office in DRC

Thanks guys. I will try and see what happens.

Reason is. I have a full blown router that I use which all my devices etc... are connected including printer.
I have 2 sim cards with different providers that I would like to use at different times.
Instead of constantly changing the devices connection settings from router to mifi for each device daily I am trying to basically change the "sim" on the main router only using the usb dongle and mifi.

I could just buy a second usb dongle and swap dongles - trying to see it I can use the mifi as I have one already not in use...

Hope it makes sense...
