Using powerline extender on different db boards

Hi guys

I live in an outbuilding with the router in the landlord's main house. They currently have a wireless range extender connecting to the router [which I then connect to from my house], but it loses connection every now and then because of the distance between the two devices.

I was wondering if a powerline extender would be a good option to overcome this? They would be on different db boards, so that's the only potential problem that I can see.

Thanks

Rather try a directional antenna

Didn't work for me in a similar scenario, single mains supply and two DBs each with earth leakage.

Currently using a gigabit cable from the exterior office to a 4 port w/less router on the far side of the house which then feeds an internal powerline link to another w/less router on the diagonally opposite corner of the house - works well :)

You can use 2 EoP devices to "hop" over the earth-leakage, so you would need 3-4 EoP devices. Or what about 2x Ubiquiti Nano startions/bridge?

If you can get a Cat5 Cable to the DBs on each side you only would need 2 EoP adaptors.

EoP also have it's issues, depends on the age and quality of wiring, and what devices connects to power, I use to have an old geyser, and everytime it goes on, it disconnected my EoP devices (15secondes or so).

Isn't it possible to pull a CAT5 from router to your place?
