Recently found out how to use our SA hub. Thought it'd share what I know since not many ppl know how to use it, or the fact that it exists. Nice for using local bandwith since our options seem to be getting limited.
I'm a Noobe to this so bear with me...:
You can use a hub to share files, almost like torrentz. There is currently 2 SA hubs, one offline, the other one working, where u can use your local accounts to download from.
I'll admit that the hub is not always fast, depends on how many users are connect. Normally get bout 1/2 to 3/4 of my connection speed on a 384 line. (Nice for when IS server is playing up). The more users online, the faster the downloads. Only catch is that u have to share files to use the hub, and allow users to upload from your shared files while you download, but without that system there would be nothing to download.
Best program to use is ApexDC++ from www.apexdc.net. More reliable than SADC++. After installing, choose a Nick, set up connection settings, open up firewall for Apex(very important). Then go to the public hub page(where they list all the hubs) and search for the South African openweb hub, very easy to find since you can sort hubs by country. If you can't find the hub you can also manually seach for it by address @ openweb.kicks-ass.net:411
You will see that to join this hub you need to share a minimum amount of stuff. Share stuff from you config page. Once connected to the hub(By double clicking the name), you will see a list of users, right click on any1's name and select "get file list". This will proceed to download a small file of that users shared file. Note that this is not immediate, depending on that users connection speed and his current uploads it could take any where from 10sec to 2min. Once his filelist opens on your screen, browse his stuff and double click to download. It will queue the download with your other stuff in queue and once the user has a open slot for you the download will start. It's a good idea to put alot of stuff in queue so when users with something you want and have in queue are not online you can still download other stuff in your queue from users who are online.
Remember, the more ppl, the faster the downloads, so spread the word.

Hey, seems like SA hub is down... Hopefully should be back up soon.
Maybe someone should try again, update this topic a bit... This is basically almost like torrents tho...
