Using Single SIM in Dual SIM phone, battery?

I know there wer other threads but my ? is simpler, I got a P20 Pro dual SIM but will only use my one SIM card, so I imagine the battery life will be normal (like having a single SIM phone)? Obviously if I put in a 2nd SIM and its active there will be more drain (2 signals etc.) but I just wanted to check if my understanding was sound, using 1 SIM in a dual SIM phone (and obviously switching off any 2nd SIM settings) will result in same/similar battery performance to normal single SIM version of phone? thanks.

The battery drain is minimal. I run 2 sim's all the time and hardly notice a difference (Doogee S50).
