Using Zoom X5 as modem

Ok, i recently bought the Zoom X5... I wish to only use it as a modem and using a different linksys router as a... well router..

The problem is that i am not sure how to make the X5 only work as a modem as when i directly connected it after installing the X5 and the linksys on my computer, it did seem to work fine until when it asked for my PPPoE username and password as it did not go through for some reason...

When i tried doing it with the X5 alone just to test out if i had it correct, it did work fine (the PPPoE username and password)

So is there anything i must do with the X5?
