Hi

I would appreciate if anybody could point me in the right direction. I have ordered a couple times from international online sites and never had any delivery tracking, issues with courier companies.

O Joy, I was then introduced to the South African Post Office.

I ordered an item and it was shipped to me by the seller with USPS First Class on 25/11/15. Shipped it to my business address in Bloemfontein.

I read online that it could take a while at customs or it could be lying at the local post office.

I went to the main Post Office and asked them if they could please look if they received an international parcel under my name or address.

They were fully aware what a USPS package was. I again tried to explain that I have not received a slip/notice/phone call/email. I kindly asked if they would please have a look under their international parcels. I was told that if I do not have a tracking number they are not willing to assist or have a look as they are busy. I was also told that I must only come back with a slip. When I told them that they do not deliver post to my business address and I could not have received a slip, no answer was provided. I was extremely friendly from the start to the end.

The seller wants to re ship the item again as it was not returned back to sender. As I feel it was not their fault I am trying to trace the package first.

Could anyone please point me in the right direction or contact numbers/email, as USPS mail must enter the country from somewhere.

Thanks Guys!

Without a tracking number you're gonna have a hard time.
Usually intl. tracking numbers get a local tracking number too - that number being what you'd use to track it locally.
Personally I'd ask the seller to send via courier or at least some kind of tracking #. Not sure what the value of this item is but you're gonna invest a fair amount of time tracking this down. Unless someone here works there and can go rummage through the boxes.

Yeah - good luck. Not a nice situation at all.

Try calling 011 961 600 6/7/8/9/10 or 011 961 6200 - the numbers for the Johannesburg incoming international mail center. Chances are the package is either held up there by customs, or has at least passed through it

Ths sapo is simply useless to start off with, but what happens is when it arrives in sa there is an international tracking number, then what happens is that it is issued a local tracking number, you need to call track and trace and find out what the local tracking number is...then again the POST OFFICE is simply useless anyway good luck...

How can you have not tracking number of any kind?

Every international item gets a tracking number. Even letters.

I use Trackmyparcel.co.za all the time for my international orders. Takes a when but eventually updates and I go fetch it at the post office.
