Hello :)

I am using data bundles from Telkom (the mo'nice bundles. The only way for me to use it is to put the sim in a phone and convert it to data.
I've tried removing the k5160 USB modem and plugging it directly into my PC, but the software for the modem complains that my Telkom Sim is unsupported.
That is true. I had a previous network sim in it.

The router works properly even with the Telkom sim and modem installed.

I would just like to know if there is any way for me to get this working, without changing sim cards?
I bought a new sim today and had it Rica'd, but when attempting to register it on the Telkom portal I receive a message that my ID and number don't match.

So have to sort that out with Telkom as well. Can USSD be done on the portal though?

Thanks,
Have a great evening. :)
Quick edit: I have tried MDMA 1.1.0.3 on the modem too. It doesn't detect it.

Can you login to your router with a web browser?

If you are able to it is easy with the USSD menu.
Make sure that your network is not locked on LTE mode.

My Router has no USSD menu option.
It's a Vodacom router that I repurposed for Telkom.

Do you think it's firmware related?

I've never tried to update the firmware of routers. Sorry.
