Does Vodacom do the same ? and if so what are the charges.

BTW i think charging for using USSD services is ridiculous.

I do not believe so. Not Vodacom USSD codes for rechargin airtime or checking balances anyway I believe. 3rd party codes perhaps, but not sure.
