Hello everyone

I've configured numerous routers to work with utorrent but my latest attempt on one of telkom's "premium combo" devices is a no go..

everything seems to be configured correctly so far because utorrent acknowledges the correct ports are open.. however when downloading any files it remains stagnant. only when i disable the the router firewall I then get a measly 2-3kb maximum which isnt normal either!? the only difference with this connection besides the router is the location, all previous installations have been in cape town and this one is in natal.

I might be overlooking something simple anybody got any ideas?

my connection type is set on xx/100mbit, i have 384adsl billion 7300 rutr
i get the best down rate this way

oldboy u were probably testing it out last night (the last day of the month) and that why u were getting such low speeds..

im sure if u test out the torrent right now u will get much higher speeds

marconi macaroni

the end of the month might account for the slow speeds seeing that trying it a second time works fine with firewall disabled! however this still does not help!?!

under "advanced nat settings" i have created a reserved port mapping for utorrent for both tcp and udp.

i have also enabled the same port in both tcp and udp in "security policy config" -> external/internal port filters with both inbound and outbound set to true...

utorrents port test works fine!? someone help me before I crush this marconi macaroni double cheese piece of shaait!

for anyone out there who has the unfortunate task of having to prod around a marconi router interface.. the problem i experienced had everything to do with "security level" under the "firewall" tab which was set to low... now unfortunately low doesnt really mean low in this case.. make sure it's set to default.. the sad thing is it seems "low" is the default when I reset the router.... if its marconi just think macaroni and turn the page!!

Well I now this is an old topic, but you really helped me out today. Got my ADSL setup today and got a nice 10gb account from Afrihost and was ready to do some serious "surfing" when I couldn't get utorrent to work. Did the port forwarding and everything, but couldn't get it to go. That was until I came across this gem of a thread. :):):):)

Thanks, got everything sorted out now.:D:D:D:D
