Okay where to begin ....

I recently finished up my contract with UUNET making me a UUNET ADSL reseller . Reason I did this was cos I am a huge World of Warcraft fanatic and the majority of our community have been looking for some form of alternative connection that allows playability any time of the day to World of Warcraft . The UUNET ADSL Solution offers this , I myself and alot of my friends have tests UUNET ADSL accounts and get between 300 - 400 pings after 7 and 500 - 600 in the day with zero packet lose which makes playing World of Warcraft a Dream .

So what am I raving about , in short I am offering UUNET ADSL accounts at the cheapest possible price short of making a lose on these things to anyone in the ZA Gaming community who is intereasted in them .

These accounts are UNCAPPED and UNSHAPED on most ports . I say most ports because some of the P2P software ports have been shapred to prevent excessive abuse of these accounts .

I am offering these accounts at R720 per month and I can make them within 30mins of me recieving your payment . This is honeslty the "dream come true" alot of local gamers have been waiting for .

You can get more info on this ar http://worldofwarcraft.co.za/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43 or you can email me directly at [email protected] .

Hope this helps some of you but feel free to email me or gt hold of me on the Shadowfire IRC server in channel #wow if you have any further questions .

Thankz
Icykal

No contraction bindings .... its pretty much a pre-paid thing , you pay me I create your account . Easiest way for me to manage it all . Unless you buy in bulk 5+ account then there will be a contract invoved because then I have alot of other services I can offer like webhosting , ftp , emails ect ... But this would be typically for more corporate clients . The normal "gamers" package is just the ADSL Account and when you pay you play .

As for the comparison to normal SAIX , from personal experience I will be speaking about World of Warcraft cos that is where I noticed the largest improvement . With Saix between business hours 9am - 6pm World of Warcraft was completely unplayabel with 2000 - 4000 and tremendous packet loss making it very hard to play the game

On the UUNET account because of the shaped ports , my gaming actually works and I ply 300 - 400 ping in the evening and 500 - 600 in the day with 0 packet loss .

Remember all the Ports are unshaped except for a few which are primarly used in P2P software so I am pretty confident that it should be alot better for almost all applications .

Icykal, you should defintely market this to SME's. It's sounds like a pretty good deal for them. Is this available nationally?

Hi. Is UUNet gonna follow a cheaper 384 Service? I would be interested in that but I do not want to have to fork out all the extra for Telkom 512 DSL and then R720 for the account. I am a student and it is just too much, I need internet for my course and ISDN is simply too much of a mission. If I can get this uunet deal for R800 or so then I would be happy. Everyone else that wants a 384 service, make sure UUNet knows this.

Regards

not possible, R449 + R720 = R1169. Thats extremely cheap, in SA at lease for an uncapped adsl account. Icykal, the shared connection im with has contacted uunet and they came around to our place spoke to us and was all good. they told us something about having to put something in the exchange so that it redirect it to uunet instead of saix and by monday we should be up. Its now Friday and no word from them..... I see you at stellenbosh university, (email addie). So you in ct as well. will drop you and email and see wat we can arrange

Well, maybe even a 128k uncapped service for adsl will be good enough. R720 for 512k, so very roughly speaking R180 (720 / 4) for 128k. That is something I would really consider. It need not be fast, just 24/7 with no restrictions! :P

I would just like to know how you can have HomeDSL 384k and then have the uncapped UUNET offering since the UUNET service runs at 512k?

Easy, its easy.
Home <<----(your 384)----##(connection to uunet)##==(their 512)===>> Internet

So you are on 384k with a 512k account, you can only use 384k of your 512k. They have no idea what line you are on, it looks the same to them. No ISP sells a 384k account anyway, so why wont it work?

We've had UUNet ADSL for about 2 weeks but been holding off waiting for the line upgrade. Latency and speeds are now *EXCELLENT*.

Grab it while its hot folks, we are taking orders as from now, no contracts needed etc. Works on any regular Telkom ADSL line (384 or 512).
