Hi

Is the UUNET ftp stuffed again, i think someone mentioned it this week. I am downloading a 65K file and it's taking 30 minutes and bombing out.

I wonder if UUNET is liable if someones server gets hacked because they where unable to install a security update via ftp ?

same on my side Swazi :(

ftp & mIRC is awfully slow. only http is full speed ahead.

any1 else on UUNet noticed this?

I logged into my old uunet account - its sill mine for the rest of the month - and it still seems pretty bad. I only did a bit of surfing and tried to ftp my server overseas. Packet loss pinging google was around 25%.

Unless you're still managing to pull down over 30gb a month you might want to consider migrating. If you are then kudos for you!

Do what all the other UUNET'ers have done (except Clipse ;)) and switch to Axxess.

Lol Im sorry that everything is working my side for some miraculously weird reason. I wish I could join ur band of movers :(

I'm glad everything is working but on Saturday afternoon (in another thread) you mentioned you were still experiencing international packet loss. Has that since cleared up?

I logged in a few hours ago on my UUNet and nothing appears to have changed. I thought the mass exodus itself might have alleviated the situation.

hi bwana, yep everything well except the packetloss internationally which made gaming rather anoying ie. wow.

From this morning, superhigh local latency, so ping is shizzled all over the place.

Torrents still 100%
browsing still 100% (if u dont mind for the initial 2second delay)
FTP still 100%
Gaming with this ping -37500430% ( ehehe )

all and all, for what I need it, its working 100%

Ag no, just when i decided to change over to SAIX you say all is well on UUNET. Since when have torrents been working 100% on UUNET, i tried the other day and was getting 2K down, where do you get this information from ? Or have they given you a special account for your service ?

FTP was non existant over the weekend and i am sure this can revert back to nil again anytime they feel like it.

I must say though i am impressed with the http, especially the port shaping, been able to multitask quite a bit better on http with UUNET than with SAIX.

So looks like its goodbye to UUNET from me a pity as the uncapped option was quite good when it worked, but this weekend was just too much to handle.

I have the same account as all of the rest, Im in Capetown. Torrents still 100%, local ping has been fixed (was very high yesterday, back to 60's) http is 100% and ftp is 100%

I cant really say more but that everything is working 100% except the international packetloss for gaming is still there.

:(

Wish I had a way of proving that its indeed working as described. Weird as hell to me aswell, Im in Capetown if it matters, port 60000-61000 in bit comet, hope to the ***s that it remains working after posting this.

I never mentioned anything about constantly keeping the torrents going, it was just to show that I do get full speed.

But whatever gets you worked up, works for me.

lol we all know its not the downloaders fault

clipse cant u take a screen shot?

I can, but what would that proof? Next reply would be, "Sure thats uunet, your probably on saix" and what not. Ill just leave it there.

btw as of a hour or so ago, my torrents crawling at 10k/s max, I think after my numerous postings the beings up in heaven saw that I got what I should not and smite me :(

browsing and ftp still 100% tho, only matter of time LOL
