UUNET Problems?

It's pretty obvious -- do a traceroute to any international IP and as soon as it reaches the international gw router, latency and packet-loss skyrocket. Some heavy shaping there. What more do you need?

A lot more than that to back up Clipse's statement. It was fine a week ago. Sometimes it does go slow, then it picks up out of the blue - maybe when MCI reset the main router in Saskanoogoo or somewhere. I am looking for evidence of a deliberate change in policy/service, not of a potentially temporary fault.

jabulani - they may have only changed your uncapped ip range, I know the 196.47.6.x account range has been restricted and throttled for a couple of months now.

We did tests from international to local and vica versa, a constant packetloss of 33% is definitely not international problems, but more a specific shaping method their using(its to constant and stable)

Is anyone not in that range? If so how is your connection?

196.47.1.* range, and you know how my connection is. Gone back to being a bit slow since this morning's speed burst! I assume you are in the 196.47.6.* range Bwana?

I've just looked and I've been in the same range for a while now (2 months+) but have only this week been experiencing these problems.

only other notable thing causing this, maybe their doing the throttling/shaping per account. Our account did this for months now, but we completely raped it lol, perhaps?

Decided to go SAIX by day for skype then switch to uunet at night.

UUNET http downloads are 100% if you use reget or da so I'm just pounding away that way.

Will probably upgrade my line back to 1024 to compensate.
