Vadocom's 3G

It says " for an additional R1 050 per month."

Thats R599 + R1050 = R1649 / month.

To hell with apartheid this is a "Legacy of Telkom".

Cheers
Chris

That sounds like a PCMCIA/PCCard, well who knows...

No sane person would be prepared to pay that much extra per month.

Whatever it is, the R1050 per month  has to be a misprint- surely?

When I read that in context with the rest of the article, I was left with the impression that the Fusion Data Card is a PCCard that has WiFi as well as 3G (use in place of a 3G phone).

Played today on a Notebook with a Vodaphone 3G card. It actually works

386/64 Download / Upload

Advantage is that it will work for the guy on the road and in other countries.

If there is a problem with the 3G it automatically connects on th GPRS connection. Still better than nothing

As nice as that might sound, I hope it is something that can be disabled- auto-GPRS-connecting - just think of how bankrupt you could be without even realising it, or why!

just got this via email :(

I do apologize for the inconvenience but I sent a message to the lady
who works with Vodacom deals, she's also the one who loads them on the
network so that we can do the cerdivet on them. She only replied to my
e-mail now, I wish I could forward it to you but it contains
confidential info on their that we cannot submit to our customers, the
message said that Vodacom has not officially launched the product
packages to the public, they will release bulletins on a regular basis
to inform us as to when we can start selling the contracts. I will keep
your docs in a safe place and will also keep you up to date with any new
results. I will do the credivet as soon as we get the go ahead.

Thank you

mc721221, perhaps this is actually an omen- warning you to wait a few months for Vodacom's 3G to iron out glitches & possibly be offered at an affordable price after February... ;)
