Hi all,

FINALLY my ADSL line is being installed within 10 working days. Yay...

Now I need to select an ISP, does anyone have any good suggestions around cost vs benefits?

3GB cap would be good, who should I look at for my ISP?

Thanks,
RT

IS accounts are nice, 3gigs or so plus 27 gigs local bandwidth.... However the ADSL regulations were released yesterday and it says local has to be uncapped, yeah but i don't know when that has to be in effect by....

Well I'd recommend Openweb, but I have sent a PM and an e-mail to them, and not yet received a reply, so I'm waiting. But I hear that they are good.

If you're not sure how much b/w you need, you can buy pre-paid access from WebAfrica. The main reason that I like it is that I don't use the same amount every month, some months i need (way) over 3GB, and in other months I've used less than 1GB. With prepaid, you can roll over unused bw to the next month.

It costs very slightly more than standard ISP accounts.

question?

if you get a adsl line can you cancell telkom as your isp and move ... say to axxess and get one there or are telkom going to screw you because of this?

I'm on Imaginet, no problems thus far *touch wood*. Lots of people on this forum like WebAfrica and OpenWeb though.

Cool, thanks for all the posts, will be looking into Openweb once I know my line will be installed...
