What's the deal with value ram being so small (as in the physical size of the ram chips)
Bought Kingston value ram 2x2gb sticks the other day and its super tiny, about half the height of my corsair 2gb sticks.

How do they get it so small? Im thinking here smaller = more expensive cause you can fit more onto less???

I know it's hard believe this but size is not everything in all cases :D

No idea as to why though.

As technology gets better, it allows manufacturers to make things smaller... hence the reason that you can now fit 32GB onto a flash drive... (remember the 32MB ones).
It doesn't cost more to make it smaller after the design and implementation has gone through.
