Hey

I need to make various purchases in the near future. My work wants to set up video conferencing so that we can cut travel cost and seeing as we are pretty small firm I am suggesting the follow

Logitech C920 Webcam
40" LCD/LED/PLASMA

which will be connected to the available existing PC which is connected to the internet.

What do you think?

Also I have been searching for a cheap 16:10 / 16:9 projector that doesn't weigh a ton but I haven;t had alot of luck. Anybody know reliable brands. I know Optoma and Sony make really good one. I have also discovered that 3LCD projectors are better for presentations.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry to do a bump but they want to purchase these things soon soon... any comments?

Google will be your friend on this. Especially with regards to a webcam/TV/PC setup. I'm not so clued up on projectors, so can't give advice on that end. Try and read some reviews on various projectors. A 40" LED would be good, just check that it has loads of connections for different scenarios, which must be compatible with your PC. Also look into some mics for the call, or will you be using normal desk phones on speaker?

Still waiting for an actual question. Your post consists out of random statements, thoughts and some obscure strategy.

The one clear question you asked I have thus answered...

The Logitech C920 comes with dual microphone and the people will only be sitting about 2 metres away in a small room. Will I still need an external mic? For speakers I was just going to use the tv speakers.

I have looked alot @ projectors. Maybe the correct question is where is the best place to purchase them?

What is your budget on the projectors? What warranty is required? Do you want a table projector, ceiling mounted projector or portable projector? If using a projector how far are people sitting from the wall/screen. What is the size of the room? How much ambient light is in the room and can the light be managed? What will you be projecting against?

Ok lets do this without my nickname affecting my statements...

The budget of the projector is max R5000. I would say a 2year warranty would be great. They current use a tiny acer project that has a problem with the bulb display spots on the bottom right of the picture when it is on. The projector will be for travel but they want to stay away from those tiny projectors like the Acer as its not bright enough and they have to put it so far away to show a decent size projection. It is mostly going to be using for client meetings away from the office and displaying financials and similar documents.

I'll see what I can do.

Hey, thanks for those quotes but it looks like management has decided without telling me to go for a Sony VPL-WD120 with a 5 year warranty...

Thanks once again for your help.
