Varnish as a load balancer

I have one public IP and multiple virtual machines behind it and a different domain hosted on each virtual machine

I would like to direct traffic to each of these domains depending on which was accessed using varnish much like this

is anyone aware of an alternative solution?

Much simpler! thanks Sinbad, coz all I really wanted to do was to direct traffic according to domain name, and not necessarily cache any content, would this work for non http traffic as well I wonder?

Yes you can use it as a tcp loadbalancer too. Obviously it won't do host header inspection etc...
