Can a member of company A (cc) use his VAT number of company B (cc), company B is dormant, company A is in process of registeration. Once Company A is registered all tax invoices previously sent out will be resent with the updated vat number. All input and output VAT recons will be submitted to sars upon backdated registration.

The problem with that is that your clients that are VAT registered are going to claim back the VAT from the number you have on the invoice. There is then going to be a problem with your dormant company as it will then owe the receiver money.

No.

Why register a new company if you already have one available with all the required registrations in place. It would be easier to simply change the name of the dormant company than to register a new one and apply for a new VAT number. VAT registration has become harder especially for newly registered companies.

One more thing. You can no longer register new cc's. Only new PTY ltd.

Short answer is No.

Register company with CIPC online and then visit SARS in person once registered and register for VAT. Won't take you more than a day if you are patient with queues.

Yes and no. Not in the way you are looking at but it's possible to trade under the old company as the new company. As mentioned you can no longer register new CC's as the gov seems to want to make it as hard as possible to do business. An easy way in to use a shelf company (company B) and just register the new name as intellectual property.

There's no need to go in person to SARS, any registered tax practitioner can do it on your behalf for a fee. And believe me, it's worth every cent to avoid having to go in person to SARS.

Nope you cant

You will need to trade for a few months with the new Company, once you have exceeded R50k, you can then go and register with SARS
